Bonfim

I will introduce Bonfim today. It is a ribbon bracelet like a misanga. If I wear it until it falls off naturally, my wish comes true.   "Bonfim" is the name of a church in Brazil. The church is in the coastal district called State of salahbador in the State of Bahia.             In a legend, when a Portuguese ship was in trouble, the captain asked God for help, and thanks to that, he was able to arrive at Port Salvador safely. The church was built in appreciation for that. It is called the miracle church. There are 365 churches in Salvador, but Bonfim is the most famous as it has the tradition that the wish comes true here. When you buy a bonfim ribbon, you tie a knot three times and it will come true if it falls off naturally. People from Brazil also came here and tie wishes to the fences and pillars three times at the church.                 ...

Beautiful Sound Gamelan Balls

イメージ
I would like to introduce Gamelan balls. They are from Bali in Indonesia. For the past, when Bali's people attended religious ceremonies they used Balinese instruments, as   Bali's people give instrument to God indispensable things is Gamelan. Incidentally Gamelan is derived from the word Gamel, which means “hit”.   Gamelan balls captured the beautiful sound of Bali's traditional gamelan music in the brass ball. In Bali it is said that God dwells in all sacred natural things. The rounded gamelan balls represent the moon, and the motifs are designs of the sea, stars, the moon, flowers and so on. These motifs are considered as sources of power. The gamelan ball is also called Bora Minpi (Dream Ball). The tone color seems to provide mental stability and relaxation effect. Also, it is said that wishes will come true if you wear it.   On the other hand, do you know that there is a bell called Suikinrei in Japan too?...
